Dear Parents,
Shalom from Kitah Zayin! We hope the fall is treating everyone well, and you are enjoying the cool, calmer days after the High Holidays. Here is some information about the upcoming month.
This month in Mollie’s history class, we are moving further into our Holocaust curriculum. In the next few weeks, we will be studying the causes of the Holocaust and why dictators rise to power. We have three important reminders:
1. Remember -- we highly suggest that by Nov 1st, each student has a plan for his or her Bar/Bat Mitzvah project! The list of possible opportunities is attached to this email, though feel free to peruse your own ideas (those need to be approved by Rabbi Pein!).
2. Please submit your Yad online as soon as possible! The instructions will be attached to this email as well.
3. On November 6th, the students will participate in the Mitzvah Fair in the last block of Religious School, where they will hear stories of Bar/Bat Mitzvah projects from older students.
In Rabbi Pein and Rachel's classes, we are working on chanting the Kaddish. Over the next few weeks, we will be moving into our Israel curriculum!
Any homework or make-up assignments will be posted on the TINW website:
https://www.tinw.org/weekly-cjl-updates--assignments.html
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mollie, Rachel, or Rabbi Pein, our Director of Congregational Learning, at any time.
Thank you, and Happy Halloween!
L’shalom,
Team Zayin
